The Ute’s Religious Freedom

The Ute tribe has religious freedom in the current moment. As mentioned in the previous blog post, they continue to practice their traditions. Each of the three main branches of the Ute tribe (Northern, Southern, and Mountain) each have a website detailing their culture and religion.

The Southern Ute discuss on their page the four main traditional ceremonies as pictured below. Each of which used to be practiced before European and Spanish intervention and are still practiced to this day.

On the Mountain Ute Tribe’s website, they also have a list of their ceremonies and other cultural/religious traditions as pictured in this image of their website.

The Ute have been able to maintain their religion and culture throughout the years and are still going strong with passing these on to newer generations.
